Numerology: Reducing your numbers

I have so many questions. Do we choose the date and time we arrive? And, what about our name? Do we have any influence at all? Or, when we choose the life we step into, is it part of our consideration?

The instrument below will help you find your sacred numbers and give you a glimpse of what they mean. Please remember to only take from this what resonates, everything was just channeled or made up by someone a long time ago.

Everything is worked out in your browser. Nothing you enter is sent to, stored on, or seen by this site.

Core terms (all systems)

The instrument above is based on the Pythagorean system, named for the Greek mathematician Pythagoras. Below are terms used to describe the components of numerology.

Reducing the numbers
Reduction

Adding the digits of a number together until you reach a single digit (or a master number). 1987 becomes 1+9+8+7 = 25, then 2+5 = 7.

Root number

The single digit left at the end of a reduction.

Compound number

The two-digit number before final reduction, read as its own layer of meaning.

Theosophical reduction

Another name for digit-sum reduction, used in esoteric traditions.

Theosophical addition

Adding every number from 1 up to a given number (4 becomes 1+2+3+4 = 10), revealing what a number contains.

Angel numbers

Repeating sequences (111, 444, 1212) read as messages or signs.

Additional systems

Chaldean numerology comes from ancient Babylon. Chinese and Feng Shui numerology originated in ancient China, Vedic in ancient India, Kabbalistic in Jewish mysticism, Isopsephy in ancient Greece, and Abjad in the Arabic world. Check the Lexicon below for more details.
